All morning my mind has been pouring over a single thought. While praying, God impressed me to share this with you today.
Over and over, God keeps bringing my mind back to Paul’s words to Timothy; “I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.” The message in these words bring our focus to a truth that is repeated throughout the New Testament. “GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN YOU!” So often we can become distracted or weighed down by the pressures which we have been experiencing. Or, we may feel timid or uncertain of what may take place ahead. God warns us that these cares of life will ‘literally’ choke out His word. Are you energies being spent on external situations and distractions? Are there challenges which have been causing you to fret over the past and worry for the future? Change your focus for a moment. Move it from the external to the internal!
Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.” Remind yourself that the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is within you. Everything you need to overcome any challenge, to make any decision, to walk in wisdom, to live in love, to look forward in faith is already within you!
Though I am unable to know what you are experiencing today, I do know this. God’s word is alive and active. God’s word comes with a guarantee that it will accomplish what it is sent forth to do, so I send His word into your life today. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for there is a greater power with you.” (2 Chronicles 32:7)
