The Motivated Ministry Leader

When you study the word ‘motivate,’ you discover it is rooted in motive.  Motivate means that there is a motive which incites, impels, moves, prompts, and provokes you to act.  There is a cause that invigorates you to action.

There are many clear pictures of motivation in scripture.  One of the most obvious descriptions of motivation is seen immediately after Jesus’ baptism.  Scripture tells us that Jesus was ‘led,’ ‘driven,’ or ’sent’ into the desert by God’s Holy Spirit.  The Spirit of God ‘motivated’ Christ to action. As I was reading earlier this week, I came across a compelling daily challenge. Daily remind yourself that your external circumstances do not determine your peace, soundness of mind, joy, or happiness. All of those are your choice. Looking Inside the Ministry Leader

All morning my mind has been pouring over a single thought. While praying, God impressed me to share this with you today.

Over and over, God keeps bringing my mind back to Paul’s words to Timothy; “I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you.” The message in these words bring our focus to a truth that is repeated throughout the New Testament. “GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN YOU!” So often we can become distracted or weighed down by the pressures which we have been experiencing.
